This weekend was graduation weekend in the Bay Area and there were tons of parties. We hosted a brunch at our house for our friend Manjula’s graduation from Mills College.
My contribution was cinnamon rolls – a favorite request of my former housemate Jess. Who when I would ask the house what they wanted for dessert would frequently request these rolls, despite my complaints that they were for breakfast, not dessert.
Personally, I like them without the icing (just like how I make my scones without added sugar on top when I am making them for myself). They came out beautifully and make the house smell good too.
They are actually a modified biscuit recipe, which means they are flaky and less dough-y than normal, and also don’t require yeast (and the time to let it rise. Who wants to get up super early before brunch to make the rolls?).
